ABOUT ME

Greetings from Ecuador!

Is a pleasure to introduce myself and have your attention on my website.

My name is Adriana González Cabrera, and I am from Guayaquil, Ecuador. Since I was a teenager, I feel a passion for communication and journalism. For that reason, as soon as I finish High School, I decided to achieve my career goals, and after five years I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Social Communication and Journalism. Currently, with seven years of experience, I am finishing my Master’s Degree in Strategy Communication at the Edward Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University.

Throughout my life, I always have demonstrated a commitment to my professional career and personal desires. However, even if work is essential for me, I have developed time management abilities to participate in volunteering activities within my community. About my personal interests, I want to keep challenging myself and keep learning about different communication techniques; mainly because in my dreams, I desire to become a well-known Communication Consultant and extended my services in various contexts such as Africa and the Middle East.

To share a little bit about my preferences and what I do for fun. I really enjoy Latin American Literature. My favorite novelist and journalist is Gabriel García Márquez. I also adore reading poetry, being Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Pablo Neruda, and Mario Benedetti my preferred poets. In my free time, I also dedicate time to paint, illustrate and learn more about lettering.

During my work in private, public and international organizations, I have developed and strengthened my skills in journalism, management of digital content and platforms, design and branding, organization of events, public relations, communication strategies, and crisis response. As part of my experience, I have worked in humanitarian organizations and NGOs. For me, those have been unique opportunities to know the reality of vulnerable communities and see the power of communication to impulse social change.
